Contract Grant Writer!

CHAVA is seeking to contract with an experienced grant writer to create long-term business and financial value through the development of relationships with foundations and corporate grantmakers.

Responsibilities

Identify appropriate grant opportunities, conduct prospect research, and develop grants databases.

Prepare letters of intent, grant proposals and formal grant applications in collaboration with the development team.

Follow up with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application to supply additional supportive material if requested.

Maintain and implement funding calendar activities, including cultivation and reporting activities.

Work with the development team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports to funders as required.
Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience writing and submitting successful grant proposals.

Knowledge and experience with foundations supporting women’s health and empowerment and education is a plus.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop rapport.

Ability to plan and manage multiple projects effectively.

Excited to work in a start-up environment where everyone wears many hats and steps in as needed. Ability to maintain energy and enthusiasm while dealing with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.
This position is a part-time independent contractor (1099). Compensation will be based on an hourly rate and on experience.
